7/30/2023 0 Comments Eye of beholder dnd 5e![]() They were capable of smelling blood in the water, sensing unusual currents, seeing in the dark, and telepathic communication. Young eyes of the deep subsisted on carrion and small fish until their powers and strength developed, splitting and then eating their plates so as to grow while they aged. Other eyes of the deep could fertilize these eggs two months after they were laid, and would instinctively attempt to do so. Three to six of the eye's feelers were for reproductive purposes and they would periodically deposit eggs on the ocean floor. They did not require sleep and so could continue to create an illusion for as long as they desired. ![]() Eyes of the deep could regenerate parts of their body given enough time with eye stalks requiring 6–11 days and other body parts needing a month, although the process could be accelerated depending on how much they ate. Because their favorite food was surface dwellers, they would sometimes digest metallic treasures, which they would later regurgitate back in their lairs. ![]() If they went up to too high, their inner gases would expand inside their bodies until they exploded. The eye of the deep was an extremely rare monster because it could only survive at a certain depth below the sea. They were strong enough to lift heavy humanoids, but couldn't move while doing so. Their feelers were capable of fine manipulation, and could secrete both an adhesive to grasp things, and an alcohol-like substance to counteract it. Their claws were both dexterous and powerful enough to cut through nets quickly with ease. After luring in a target, they would surprise them with a flash before grasping them with their claws and ripping them apart. While they could fool each other using illusions, eyes of the deep were immune to the flashing effect of other members of their kind. Even in the heat of battle they could use their illusion abilities to mislead their enemies into poor tactical decisions, like creating false hope via illusions of reinforcement. Some were known to have a second eye ray that generated a wave of cold. Individually, their eye rays were capable of preventing an opponent from moving, with one being more potent than the other. Within but a second, an eye of the deep could generate a bright white flash that stunned a target for up to a minute and blinded them for twice as long. They would use this ability to lure in unsuspecting survivors of shipwrecks before hitting them with their second most iconic ability. As they grew more skilled they could create and manipulate the images without actually looking at them. When both eye rays were working in concert they could craft incredible illusions, creating moving three-dimensional images. Abilities Īn eye of the deep was unique in that by combining their eye rays they could achieve a special effect. ![]() They would sometimes use their illusion abilities for entertainment. While not particularly intelligent compared to normal beholders, they were smart enough to employ traps and other tactical moves. They avoided others of their kind to prevent potential battles with equal foes. They would only work with other creatures if promised food or convinced that the alliance was advantageous to them in some way. Behavior Įyes of the deep were as deceptive as they were selfish, with no sense of loyalty. Hidden underneath their bodies were approximately 60–90 sticky white "feelers", which could be used to paddle through the water or cling onto rocks, although they were usually found floating silently through the water. A pair of large arms ending in crab-like claws were located at their bottom sides, brightly colored chitinous plates armored their bodies, and their mouths were filled with razor-sharp, shark-like teeth. Two antenna-like eyestalks wriggled atop their heads while a large eye was located in the middle of their bodies. Eyes were spherical creatures, 9 feet (2.7 meters) wide that weighed 6,000 pounds (2,700 kilograms). 7/30/2023 0 Comments Umbra mini stowit jewelry box![]() Umbra’s fun and innovative approach to designing for the home means their collection is stylish and always practical. ![]() From nifty storage solutions to clever plant pots, Umbra’s collection of original homewares are designed to live in any and every home. Head right down the road to reach the tree that once grew in the temple of Eothas, now serving as the local gallows. This is a fairly large, well-populated map, so let's get straight to exploring. The once grand tree of the Temple of Eothas became the local gallows, adorned with rotting corpses. The Hollowborn Crisis affected the already straining Vale severely and Lord Raedric's deteriorating mental state led to a series of purges among the villagers. Although many graciously accepted the invitation and took over the Vale's abandoned homesteads, they usually give the Vale a wide berth to avoid even the remote risk of being associated with a former Eothasian community. To prevent the total depopulation of the Vale, Lord Raedric VII has brought in settlers with promises of wealth and land. However, the events of the Saint's War resulted in the Vale's decline and depopulation, as they were forced out of the area and the holy temple destroyed. More recently, this small hamlet north of the Pearlwood Gulf was once at the center of a sizable Eothasian community in Dyrwood. The slaying was commemorated with a special armor crafted from its scales, which was worn by his descendants in the War of Defiance, against the Empire. The first Lord Raedric cemented his popularity – and that of his house – when he gathered a dozen of his finest soldiers and slew the dragon himself. It was believed that the beast was provoked by the construction of Raedric's Hold nearby. Notably, it was beset by a particularly territorial fire dragon in the early years of the Dyrwood's colonial period. Though it used to see very high traffic during the early colonial days, Gilded Vale has settled into a quieter pace of life as colonization and trade have pushed farther east. It lies in the erldom known as the Grasp (formerly Yenwood) just past the eastern edge of the Helsgate erldom. Gilded Vale is the heart of the northwestern grain basket in the Free Palatinate of Dyrwood. 7/29/2023 0 Comments Lovely planet remixIts an unusual, almost balletic, shooting game thats both challenging and non-threatening. 7/29/2023 0 Comments Carbide vs diamond nail drill bits![]() You never want to drill ceramic tile with the drill at high speed. The key to drilling regular ceramic tile is to use a brand-new carbide-tipped masonry drill bit and a drill that has a variable-speed trigger. The inner core of these tiles is fairly soft. Once a drill bit penetrates the thin glass coating, it usually drills rapidly through the inner core of regular ceramic tile. In the kiln, this silica coating turns into a hard, thin glass coating and the clay transform into a low-grade slate-like rock. Many common ceramic tiles are made primarily with clay, but then coated with a thin glaze that is primarily silica. The tile drill bits slide around on the tile making it hard to keep the drill bit in place. The shiny glaze on the tile is glass and glass is slippery. Why Does the Tile Glaze Make Drilling Into Tile Difficult? The tile often shatters with conchoidal fractures like glass. The high silica content of porcelain tile also makes it nearly impossible to cut with a snapper-type tile cutter. But when it get's heated, the crystal structure changes and it transforms much like plastic concrete in a read-mix truck turns hard hours after it's poured or cast. Some you can form with your hands but other clay can only be molded by a machine it's so stiff. In the early stages of tile manufacturing, the clay that's used to make the tile is a putty. Just like an oven changes liquid batter into cake, the higher kiln temperature transforms the putty-like clay into artificial stone. The high temperature in the kiln modifies the chemistry and crystallography of the silica-rich raw material. The heating process inside a kiln makes the porcelain tile hard to drill. What Makes Porcelain Tile So Hard to Drill? You might have tried to drill a hole in porcelain with the wrong drill bit and you were drilling far too fast. If the manufacturer fires it at a hotter temperature for longer in the kiln, the silica-rich clay gets almost as hard as granite. Porcelain tile almost always has a high silica content and the tile is dense. Porcelain tile is the hardest tile to drill. The same is true for ceramic tile.ĬLICK HERE to get FREE & FAST BIDS from local tile contractors who can drill your tile for you. ![]() Any geologist will tell you that some rocks are far harder than others. Why is Ceramic Tile Hard?Ĭeramic tile is hard because it's artificial or man-made rock. But to do so, you might have to buy a new drill and a few special drill bits.
